NVS celebrated the fourth international Yoga day on 21st June 2018. The students carried their yoga mats and were dressed smartly in white uniform. They were split into different groups according to age.
In the Primary School, the students and teachers performed basic stretching exercises along with a series of simple, yet effective yoga postures and breathing techniques. The event concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra.
The students from class 6 to 12 began the day by performing various ‘asanas’ in the sports complex. Teachers also enthusiastically participated with them. The session included warming up exercises, chanting of aum, followed by yogic asanas like Tadasana, pad-hastasana, ardhachakrasana, Trikonasana, Dandasana, vajrasana, sasankasana, vakrasana, bhujangasana,pawanmuktasana.
The session ended with meditation and shanti mantra to the tune of light music.
